Holiday Parade and Party Sponsored by the The Berne Town Library and Historical Society

The Parade began at 2PM on Route 443 at Berne-Knox-Westerlo Central School and ended at 2:30 at the Berne Masonic Hall where the party — complete with music, crafts, refreshments and Santa — was held.
The East Berne, and Berne Volunteer Fire Company Trucks transported Santa and Mrs. Claus who led the way for refreshments, wreath making and cookie decorating.

Search and Rescue Drill in East Berne, NY, with Berne, East Berne, Huntersland and Rensselaerville Volunteer Fire Companies. These Albany County Hilltown firefighters utilize a simulated smoke-filled structure to conduct search and rescue drills. Visibility is zero in smoke-filled environment like a house fire, so firefightrs must train in a simulated setting. They also conduct “Follow the Hose” exercises where firefighters learn to follow fire hoses to exit from a structure fire if necessary.

Joint Company Drill: East Berne, Knox and Gallupville Fire Companies

Members of the East Berne Volunteer Fire Company, Knox Volunteer Fire Company and Gallupville Volunteer Fire Department along with the Helderberg Ambulance Squad participated in a joint drill to practice mask confidence exercises, utilize the LINSTAR :: Incident Command tracking tool and ladder exercises.
